Integral Development is understood as the passage from a less human situation to a more human situation. In some cases, many sectors of the Southern region can be inhuman or even infrahuman, at least in some conditions such as health, housing, social security and Education, among others. In this regard, the process should concentrate in turn this inhuman reality into a human one, which needs direct and sustained intervention of an external agent in the role of Social Development. Such is CVG Minerven’s case.
But even in this preliminary stage and more particularly in further stages, external intervention or life conditions transformation are not enough. Because Integral Development is, essentially, a human process, it is indispensable that people participate in it from the beginning assuming an integrationist, productive attitude in their proactive behavior, for the progressive and endless goal is that the human kind reaches a higher stage, and not that we have more and produce more, as observed in the Development centered conception of the process.
Having or producing more is part of the conditions necessary to reach the goal of achieving a higher stage. But only man’s participation as a social historic protagonist of his destiny can reach such an objective.
